Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed:
[OWNER NAME / ENTITY] wants everyone to be able to use 37thstreethousing.com, including people with disabilities.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more usable for people with a wide range of disabilities.
What we’ve done
Accessibility is built into the Site’s code rather than added with an overlay or toolbar. The Site:
- Uses semantic page structure, headings and landmarks, with a “Skip to main content” link
- Works fully with a keyboard, with a clearly visible focus indicator
- Meets WCAG AA color-contrast requirements, and never uses color alone to convey meaning
- Provides text descriptions for every meaningful image
- Gives apartment names with fractions (for example, “Apt 1158 ¼”) a clear spoken name for screen readers
- Labels every form field, marks required fields in text, and explains errors in words, with links to each field
- Respects your device’s “reduce motion” setting by turning off non-essential animation
- Reflows to a single column at 320 pixels wide and at 200% zoom without horizontal scrolling
- Is tested with automated tools (axe-core) and by keyboard
Known limitations
- Interactive map: The optional Google map is provided by a third party, and we can’t guarantee its accessibility. The address and an “Open in Google Maps” link are always available as text.
- Photos: Photo descriptions describe what each picture shows. Because photos are representative, they may not show the specific apartment you’re interested in.
